Cleanliness and Sterility

Your Initial Examination, Diagnosis, and Treatment Plan
Successful treatment is dependent on an appropriate treatment plan. As a new patient you will give us background information relevant to your general and dental health, and additional information that you feel is significant and important for us to know. Then, during a thorough clinical examination that takes about 45 minutes, we will examine your gums, teeth, jaw joints ("TMJ"), and your occlusion (the manner in which your upper and lower teeth meet). In addition the other soft tissues in and around your mouth will be looked at as a screening check for any sign of disease, the early detection of which may at times be life-saving.
On the basis of the examination findings, the information you have given during the pre-examination interview, and relevant xrays, we design a treatment plan with the goal of assisting you to have a healthy and attractive mouth. Our goal is to execute the treatment plan in its entirety so that additional future treatment can be as minimal as possible.
Range of Treatment
We provide almost all types of conventional dental treatment, including dental implants and their incorporation in a variety of techniques of restoring your mouth, and periodontal (gum) treatment. Preventive care is of utmost importance in our practice. We enjoy treating children, and provide a wide range of treatments to provide solutions to aesthetic issues.
Materials
In use in our practice are only of the highest quality. The choice of which category of materials to use for a particular procedure has ramifications related to your specific dental needs (in terms of particular dental problems you may have), aesthetics, strength, and cost. Sometimes some of these factors need to be weighed against each other and when appropriate we will discuss with you the comparative advantages of different materials to help you decide which type of material is best suited for a particular purpose in your mouth.
Followup and Preventive Maintenance:
Subsequent to the completion of your active treatment, you will be called to come in for periodic examination and preventive care, on a frequency which is appropriate to the type of treatment you have received, and your past medical and dental history.

Occlusion (how your teeth meet):
Do you have problems related to occlusion?
Over the years we have accumulated, both from our clinical experience, and based on the continually advancing state of knowledge in this field, a significant ability to help patients who suffer from a variety of occlusally-related problems.
Most patients are unaware of the significance of these problems, the treatment of which can often be important in dealing with:
- Headaches, including (sometimes) those which have been diagnosed as migraine headaches
- A tendency to periodontal (gum) problems
- Loose teeth
After examination and the use of relatively simple treatment, in many cases these problems may be alleviated very significantly, and a new level of comfort achieved for you. |
