Treatment: Porcelain laminate veneers bonded to the six upper front teeth. In addition to restoring the proper thickness of these teeth, we redesigned their length and width in order to close the gaps between the teeth, while maintaining an aesthetic proportion between width and length of the teeth. A considerable amount of mathematical calculation was required here to plan the construction in such a way as to provide a visually pleasing result.

This patient presented with the complaint that friends and colleagues had commented to her that her teeth looked transparent. They were right. The transparency was caused by a thinning of the teeth: liquid intake was almost exclusively limited to grapefruit juice, which is very acidic, and the outer enamel layer of these teeth was literally dissolved away (Don't try this at home….)
